Organization X is a large public sector organization with thousands of employees across Finland.
In 2022, Organization X was in the process of launching their DEI agenda as a part of their sustainability strategy. Not having much prior engagement with DEI topics, they were uncertain about how and where to begin. As a result, they sought Inklusiiv’s support.
Initially, Organization X sought guidance relating to their service provision for diverse clients. Over time, the collaboration with Inklusiiv has broadened their perspective to recognize that to be an inclusive service provider, inclusion must also be reflected in their organizational culture and internal working practices. This broader understanding has shifted Organization X to move away from isolated actions and now operate with a holistic focus: improving both their organization as a place to work and as a key service provider.
Over the past two years, beyond the consultative collaboration, Inklusiiv has also delivered trainings and webinars to raise awareness about DEI topics. At the core of the partnership has been the consultative support Inklusiiv have provided, which has allowed the organization to take a strategic approach to advancing DEI.
What are DEI consulting meetings?
The regular one-hour virtual consultation meetings have occurred every 2-4 weeks, attended by the people leading DEI work in the organization and a dedicated DEI consultant from Inklusiiv.
During these meetings, the client can bring up any questions or challenges they have come across in making DEI progress. Together, the client and consultant work through these issues to find solutions. If urgent matters arise between meetings, the planned topics are adjusted accordingly. This approach ensures that the consultations are responsive to the client’s immediate needs, providing ongoing support and partnership to maintain momentum and progress. The sessions are scheduled flexibly at the client’s convenience.
Flexible and ongoing DEI support
The partnership has provided Organization X with clarity and understanding of the practical actions they can take to make DEI progress. The meetings have helped Organization X overcome barriers, identify potential risks, and have enabled them to make necessary adjustments and adopt more efficient approaches.
